No, Really. It’s my Pleasure. Review of the New Marlkress Chick-Fil-A.

If I could live at Chick-Fil-A, I totally would. Think about it. The food is delicious and I don’t even have to cook it. The kids actually EAT the food instead of just crying looking at the veggies I put on their plates. It’s always clean and the people are ALWAYS polite! There are times when I can’t even get a response out of my kids. BUT….say “thank you” to a Chick-Fil-A staff member and it’s pretty much guaranteed to be returned with a “my pleasure.” Oh yes – it’s like a mom’s dream come true. Don’t even get me started on the playground. My kids have legit spent hours in that playground, under my supervision, of course, and they always end up worn out. #winning
It’s no surprise, then, that, when I realized Chick-Fil-A was building another restaurant in Cherry HilI, I knew we would have to visit asap.
The Marlkress location opened for business on May 31, 2018 and they totally opened with a bang. Now, we know I love Chick-Fil-A for their delicious chicken and all of the reasons I already listed, but what I love MOST about Chick-Fil-A is their dedication to helping the community. This location started with a full day service project. Read about it here. If I didn’t have the boys to drop off and pick up from school, I totally would’ve gone and helped.
We didn’t waste any time checking out the new location. My little dude, Matthew, and I went for lunch on June 1, the day after the grand opening. Conveniently located on Route 70, we could see that it was pretty crowded as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. We got out of the car and, once we got to the sidewalk of the building, we were greeted by none other than the CHICK-FIL-A COW!!! (Does that cow have a name?? I must investigate) At the moment, this seemed like my 4-year-old’s dream come true. In true Jersey fashion, the cow fist-bumped us both and handed my son a little stuffed cow.
See?? That’s not one of those “I’m smiling because mom said to” smiles. That’s a REAL smile.
There was a long-ish line (typical of any Chick-Fil-A at lunch time), but the amazing cashiers/order takers/providers of chicken moved us through that line pretty quickly. We ordered, paid, and took our yellow upside-down cone thing (what is it?!) to the table. Now, in my opinion, the table was clean. In Chick-Fil-A’s opinion, it was not. That table was wiped down faster than I could say “CHICKEN!!!!” and our meal was brought soon after. Matthew started gobbling up his kid’s meal and I dove into my salad.
I need to mention now, that I completely appreciate and love Chick-Fil-A’s attention to every little detail. I mean, there was like 1 crumb on that table. For this typical mom, that’s par for the course. Not only did it get wiped up right away, but there were also FLOWERS on the table. Um, yes. Flowers that were color-coordinated to the Chick-Fil-A logo nonetheless. It’s like they KNEW I was coming and would love them!
Remember that cow, though? He’s not one to drop you like a hot potato. (I don’t know where that came from) He stopped by for even MORE fist-bumps and chilled at the table with us.
After lunch comes……PLAYGROUND!!! This is where we usually spend most of our time. However, there was one time when I sat at the Chick-Fil-A table for 3 HOURS waiting for my then only-child (now 6-year-old) to eat his meal. I kid you not. It was summer, he was the only child, there was air conditioning…it took forever, but it wasn’t horrible. ANYWAYS, after lunch, we went to the playground. Now, the first thing I noticed with this playground was the steps. My FAVORITE Chick-Fil-A playground steps. I had only noticed these steps at the Voorhees and Marlton locations before, so this is a big thing for local littles. Yes, I’m the crazy lady that notices these things, but hear me out. These are the best steps for the tiny ones. They spiral up, making it easier for their tiny legs to climb up, resulting in having a blast crawling through all the tubes. Other Chick-Fil-A locations have steps that kid of alternate sides. Not the easiest thing to describe, but I find they’re better suited for the big kids.
See?! I promise you, this makes it a hundred million percent easier for your littles to climb up which means you get more time to sit and watch your babies play/drink your lemonade, chat with the other mamas that joined you for the lunch date.
Here are a few more looks at the playground. My boys especially love when the playground has a suspended car like this!
K – I think we’re all finished up for now. We’re probably going to go to Chick-Fil-A for lunch today!
Always remember to supervise your children while they’re on the playground (ANY playground)!
I know you’ll say “thank you” for this review, so I’ll respond, of course, with “my pleasure.”
